This just makes you want to get in and have a ton of fun on some back country roads with this little car. Sure, you are not taking it on the major highways of the world, but you could.
This car has been completely tore down and built back up. The car was taken all the way down to bare metal and brought back up in the blue, and white two tone paint that you see. As you will see in the pics, this particular model is a cabriolet, and the tops are new as well. All of the bright work was re chromed and the stainless was polished out.
Under the rear of this cool little car sits a 297 CC 4 stroke motor that has been completely dis assembled and rebuilt, and the same thing goes for the four speed transmission. It was rebuilt as well, and the clutch is very tight and shifts well like it should. This motor finally made this car reliable transportation. It will get 50 MPG at 50 MPH.
The interior on these cars are really pretty basic. Once you slide in the "refrigerator" style door you sit on a bench seat, pull the door forward and you or your passenger can latch the door shut. Make sure your fuel is on, and turn the key and you and your companion are ready to go have some fun on the back roads of the world. Get ready to wipe the silly grin off of your face, not from a horsepower muscle car kind of grin, but the cute factor that you can't believe all of the looks and thumbs up that you are getting driving this cool ride.
Be prepared to be stopped where ever you go and have everyone ask you what it is, and how do you get in and out, and can they sit in it real quick. This is just a cool little car. They are now making parts for this car. BMW was so embarrassed in it's early days about it's humble beginnings that they pretty much abandoned these cars, but now things are available.
